Easy Easter Activities To Try At Home With Your Children!

Easter time is here again and if you’re thinking of ideas to keep your children entertained then these easy Easter activities might be just what you are looking for!

Easter Egg Hunt

Firstly, you’ll need to decorate some eggs (make sure they are hard boiled first!) or you could just buy some chocolate eggs to hide. Once the eggs are ready, hide them in different locations around your house or garden. To make it more challenging you could also add clues or riddles for the children to solve to help find the hidden eggs. Once all the eggs are found, get the children to count them to see who found the most.

Egg and Spoon Race

An old sports day classic that I’m sure you’ve all played in the distant past! Give each child an egg and a spoon (you could use the same decorated eggs you made in the Easter Egg hunt activity). Set up a course for the children to race to the finish line without dropping the egg. You can even add obstacles to make it more challenging!

Bunny Statues

A twist on an old classic musical statues! We’d suggest that this activity is best done with a bigger set of friends or family. Begin by playing some fun and bouncy music. Encourage your children to hop around like bunnies while the music plays. When the music stops, they should freeze in place. The last one to freeze is out. Play until there is only one child left.

Easter Charades

We all know this classic game but here’s one with an Easter twist. Write Easter-related words or phrases on slips of paper and put them in a hat. Take turns drawing a slip of paper and acting out the word or phrase without speaking. The other players have to guess what the word or phrase is. You can also make it a team game by dividing the players into two teams and keeping score.

Easter Bingo

Another ideas is to create bingo cards with Easter-related items such as bunnies, eggs, and flowers. The children could do this themselves. Once complete you can play a game of bingo as a family. You could also add prizes for the winners, such as Easter eggs or small toys.

Easter Bake Off

Test your culinary skills with a big Easter bake off! Easter is often associated with indulging and enjoying a sweet chocolate treat. So, it’s a great time to get into the kitchen and bake with your kids!

If you are feeling less brave than actually baking, for young children the old classic Shredded Wheat or Corn Flake nests are an excellent choice. They’re so simple to make don’t require any heat from baking, so can be done with very young children. If your children are older or you want more of a challenge then you could try baking a carrot cake with easter bunny cake toppers or a chocolate cake covered in Mini eggs! Why not get the whole family involved and have a bake off competition to see who can make the best Easter themed desert!

Easter can be a great time for children to have fun and get creative without you having to  spend a lot of money. We hope you have fun completing some of these activities and we wish you a great Easter!
